Black Russian Terrier Grooming Seminar, London Ontario in May

- Hosting the Grooming seminar as a separate event without the pressure of competing in the conformation ring provided stress free environment and gave us lots of time to hang out and talk BRT's before and after.
- It was great time together, met new people, see growing puppies, had a chance to spend time with lots of people.
- The seminar that Olga Kornienko has designed is definitely so informative and useful for beginner groomers. Easy to follow and easy to remember different techniques what she was using.
First of all, Olga is methodical, she is a teacher and explains in detail every aspect of a BRT cut in easy to follow terms and gives examples. The way she teaches provides a clear picture of why she does things the way she does, which tools to use and how to use them.
Time passed so quick with a lot of grooming information. After grooming everyone got together for BBQ and fun time.

For American puppy owners AKC News.
Meet AKC S.T.A.R. PuppySM — The New Puppy Level of Canine Good Citizen

Every puppy deserves a great start in life and the AKC's newest program for puppies is here to help that happen. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, the recently unveiled puppy level of the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program, is designed to reward owners who have taken the time to take their puppies to a puppy or basic training class at least 6 weeks long. "STAR" is an acronym for Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner, all the things every puppy needs.
AKC S.T.A.R. program defines ‘puppy’ as a dog up to the age of 1 year old.
Here's how AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy works.
Owners take their puppies to a training class (at least 6 weeks long) taught by an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator.
The evaluators plan their puppy classes and use their own training methods. The AKC CGC department provides support materials such as “Lessons for a Puppy’s People” that will be on the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy webpage. These lessons (that will be added to over time) are brief talking points that an instructor can use at the beginning of the class to give a 5-minute lesson to the humans. After training and observing the puppy for at least 6 weeks in the course, the evaluator administers the 20-item AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test in class. As in CGC, owners are given the paperwork to enroll in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program.

Black Russian Terrier Fun Day, September the 13th 2008

We had our third annual Black Russian Terrier Fun Day.
It was a great time to meet people who like our breed and want to know more about BRT. We had a great chance to meet our puppies from the Janetta and Marley breeding in January.
Thank you to all the people who found time to come to London from different cities in Canada to have a good time together.
All day it was heavy rain and most of the time we spent under the canopy where we had a BBQ, auction, small dog show for fun with prizes for the winners. But even in the bad weather, Anna Ostrowski with her dog Duke and Allan Brown with his dog Marley were in the field demonstrating agility training. We want to say thanks to Jean Browm who did a great job to make the Fun Day happen. Thanks to our SPONSORS, who supported this event with their donations.
